Was Your Sleepwalking Caused by Ambien?
WEITZ & LUXENBERG IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING AMBIEN CASES.
In March 2007 the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning about the prescription sleep aid Ambien requiring them to place new warnings and provide patient information booklets to warn consumers of dangerous side effects from this drug.
One of the most critical warnings came from the FDA in 2006 regarding incidents of sleepwalking and other strange and dangerous behaviors. During the FDA’s study of Ambien, they noted that both doctors and patients reported more sleepwalking incidents associated with Ambien than with any other prescription sleep medication.
In a March 2006 report in The Washington Post, several Ambien patients suffering from sleepwalking disorders were interviewed. Their stories included incidents of severe sleep-eating, where patients would indulge in extreme binge eating and have no waking memory of their nighttime eating. Several Ambien patients have been charged with criminal offenses for offenses occurred while sleepwalking. Patients report being arrested for offenses such as shoplifting, driving related incidents and other more serious offenses, all while sleepwalking.
Ambien is a dangerous drug, and many questions have been asked in regard to its safety. type=text/javascript>
