New pollutants found in Vermont water, including Atrazine
September 30, 2006
Recent testing by the U.S. Geological Survey has
shown a wide range of modern chemicals in Vermont's waterways.
One
specific body of water getting a lot of attention is Lake Champlain, which has
been found to contain many chemicals, including Atrazine. According to the
Burlington Free Press, "pesticide levels are highest in Missisquoi and St.
Albans bays, but remain well below the levels of concern for drinking water."
