Updated information on Diethylstilbestrol (DES)

Starting in the mid-1940s, physicians prescribed Diethylstilbestrol (DES) to pregnant women with high risk pregnancies to prevent miscarriage. After researchers obtained information about the side effects of DES, the drug was later shown to cause serious health issues in both the women who took DES and their children, particularly their daughters.

New information showed that the daughters of patients who took Diethylstilbestrol (DES) were likely to develop structural changes in their reproductive organs, experience infertility and pregnancy problems, and be at greater risk of developing a rare type of cancer called adenocarcinoma. In 1971, the Food Drug Administration ordered that Diethylstilbestrol (DES) no longer be prescribed to pregnant women.

If you or a faily member have suffered complications from DES exposure, you may be eligible to file a legal claim against the drug manufacturer and collect significant financial compensation. Please fill out this simple form for more information about Diethylstilbestrol.
