Dana M. Northcraft, Esq., joined Weitz & Luxenberg in 2010 and is a respected member of our firm’s Asbestos Litigation Unit. In 2009, she was admitted to practice law before the bench of the federal district court in its eastern New York jurisdiction; one year earlier, that same court’s southern New York jurisdiction accorded her similar privileges. A member of the bar in the State of New York since 2005 and in the State of New Jersey since 2004, Ms. Northcraft came to us from the law offices of Caesar & Napoli where, for five years, she oversaw all aspects of personal injury, products liability, labor law, and premises-liability litigations. She received her legal education at City University of New York, graduating in 2004 from that institution’s school of law. While at CUNY, she won a 2002 Charles H. Revson Fellowship (recipients spend the better part of a year developing civic leadership skills) and won a 2003 Public Interest Fellowship. At the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she graduated in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a trio of honor societies inducted her into their ranks: Phi Eta Sigma, Psi Chi, and Golden Key National. Ms. Northcraft has also contributed her time and talents in support of – among others – the CUNY general-counsel’s office and Legal Momentum (formerly the National Organization for Women Legal Defense and Education Fund).
“My grandfather was a union laborer, and maybe that’s one reason I feel such a close bond to so many of the mesothelioma and asbestos lung cancer victims I represent. Many of them are blue-collar workers who spent the entirety of their productive years working hard to support their families and all along they were being poisoned by asbestos. It’s not right that now they are dying and their families left grieving because of the asbestos they were exposed to decades earlier in the course of just doing their jobs. I’m grateful to have this chance to help them and their families in their time of need.” – Dana M. Northcraft, Esq.
