Daniel Horner, Esq., is an associate attorney in our Asbestos-Cancer Litigation group, and has served in that capacity since coming to Weitz & Luxenberg in 2009. An important victory in which he had a hand was our $22-million asbestos lung-cancer verdict in 2011 against Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and Goodyear Canada – in that matter, Mr. Horner provided extensive legal research along with nimble support at trial. More recently, he obtained a $2.5-million default judgment against New York’s Port Authority for the mesothelioma death of a Smithtown, N.Y., sheetmetal worker who was alleged to have suffered asbestos exposure while helping build the World Trade Center back in the 1970s. Mr. Horner is admitted to practice law in the state of New York, a privilege he acquired in 2009, following his 2008 acquisition of a juris doctor degree from the University of Buffalo Law School. One year earlier, he obtained a master of arts degree, also from the University of Buffalo. That same school was as well the source of the bachelor of arts degree he earned in 2004.
