The Lance Armstrong Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Austin, Texas. Founded in 1997 by cancer survivor and champion cyclist, Lance Armstrong, LAF is dedicated to inspire and empower people with cancer.
The organization says it "believes that in the battle with cancer, unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything."
LAF serves its mission through education, advocacy, public health and research programs.
According to LAF website statistics, 500 cancer survivors and caregivers per month receive direct support and referrals from social workers and case managers through the LIVESTRONG™ SurvivorCare Program.
