Mercury Found in Warrington Skateboard Lot Still Unexplained

March 21,2007

A small puddle, about 1/8 of a cup, of mercury was found in a deserted skateboard lot. Several homes in the surrounding Warrington neighborhood were analyzed for mercury following this discovery. Furthermore, several children in the area were tested for mercury poisoning, but all tests came back negative for the toxin.

Since then the mercury puddle has been removed and soil in the area has been tested. The Department of Environmental Protection confiscated the children's skate shoes to avoid possible home contamination.
