Michigan and Eight Other States Sue Bush Administration Regarding Mercury Emissions

February 20,2007

Michigan, and eight other states including Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania sued the Bush administration. These states believe it had disobeyed federal law by failing to follow the rules of the Clean Air Act. Accorning to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, the United States Environmental Protection Agency fell short of their duties by not addressing the provlem of mercury emissions coming from kilns. The suit was filed in the U.S. Court of Appeals in the District of Columbia.
