RENU LAWSUIT
Corneal infections from ReNu with MoistureLoc;
Free lawsuit evaluation . . .

BREAKING NEWS, January 29, 2008 - A new study from University Hospitals Case Medical Center has found that a high proportion of the corneal infections associated with ReNu with MoistureLoc contact lens solution were made resistant by the formation of a highly resistant structure of microbial cells, according to Science Daily. Information on filing a ReNu lawsuit follows:

A number of consumers have sought legal action against ReNu manufacturers Bausch & Lomb, and many a lawsuit has been filed. The majority of claimants are lens-wearers who have developed fungal infections necessitating corneal transplants.

Our firm has spearheaded ReNu lawsuit litigation in response to the dangerous contact-lens solution, filing the first of several corneal transplant cases with the State Supreme Court of New York on May 5, 2006, Court Index No. 106201/06.

The researchers in this latest study tested six kinds of contact lenses made by three different manufacturers and two lens-care solutions (Bausch & Lomb's MoistureLoc and MultiPlus) against three fungal strains.

Dr. Mahmoud A. Ghannoum, Ph.D, director of the Center for Medical Mycology and senior investigator on the study, recommends that soft contact lens wearers use only fresh solution, not add new solution to old solution, and avoid using expired solution.

He also recommends a rub-and-rinse method of cleaning, regardless of what solution is used.

Dr. Ghannoum said that one of the underlying reasons for ReNu with MoistureLoc not being effective against the outbreak of keratitis "is that the solution is not effective against biofilms and the organisms contained in biofilms." Biofilms are a constellation of resistant organisms.

If you have developed a problematic eye infection resulting in vision loss after using ReNu contact lens solution, you may have a lawsuit claim against the manufacturer, Bausch & Lomb.
