Saint-Gobain asbestos products
In 1988, the CertainTeed Corporation, a manufacturer of many asbestos-containing materials, became a wholly owned subsidiary of Saint-Gobain.
From the 1930s to the 1980s, CertainTeed produced asbestos-containing building products that were used extensively in the construction and maritime industries, including the U.S. Navy.
CertainTeed still remains one of the top construction materials companies in the country, but today is focusing on developing environmentally friendly building materials.
