WEITZ & LUXENBERG'S DENISE M. DUNLEAVY
Among the Top-50 Women Litigators in 2001

New York, 2001 -- Weitz & Luxenberg is proud to announce that The National Law Journal's new list of Top-50 women litigators in the nation includes their own Denise M. Dunleavy, a plaintiff's attorney who litigates cutting-edge issues in women's health.

Dunleavy was a pioneer in breast implant litigation and is a lead attorney in products liability litigation involving the lactation-suppressing drug Parlodel. She has won multiple million-dollar verdicts, including a $2.5-million premises liability verdict earlier this year against a landlord for a woman who was raped in her own apartment.

Dunleavy is also recognized in the legal community for winning the first jury verdict against a gun maker for injuries caused by a properly functioning gun. For her work in this case, which achieved a $4-million verdict (later reduced), she received the 1999 Trial Lawyer of the Year award by the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice.
