Vioxx - A Solution for Alzheimer’s Disease?
Alzheimer’s is a clinical study that is part of the University of Pennsylvania’s Alzheimer’s Disease Center to determine whether NSAIDs, in particular COX-2 selective inhibitors, will reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease similar to the NSAID Indomethacin. Started in February 1999 there have been two presentations from their collected data on June of 2002 and 2003. Vioxx, Bextra and Celebrex are all COX-2 selective inhibitors. Data is still currently being collected for this study.
