William A. Walsh —
William Walsh’s involvement in environmental matters predates his law degree, when he served on the legislative staff of a U.S. Senator for nearly two years. Since then, Will has represented numerous clients in land use cases and, most recently, performed a valuable support role in Weitz & Luxenberg’s representation of municipal water suppliers in various states in their suit against the various major petroleum companies for groundwater contamination with MTBE. He is currently involved in litigation concerning environmental contamination arising from the General Electric facility in Schenectady, New York, and employee exposure to PCBs at the plant.
Will is completing his second decade of legal practice in a career that, in addition to environmental matters, has ranged from assisting in the representation of a major union in a civil RICO suit to handling civil rights cases in the New York Court of Appeals and the U.S. Second Circuit.
Mr. Walsh also served for two terms on his local Board of Education and has spoken on educational law issues. Will is a graduate of Haverford College and the University of Minnesota Law School, where he also was a member of the Minnesota Law Review and a moot court director.
