Sheriff To Release Report Of Lake George Boat Accident

LAKE GEORGE-The Warren County Sheriff's Department report concerning the capsizing of the Ethan Allen tour boat on Lake George on Oct. 2 resulting in the death of 20 of the 47 passengers aboard might be released by the end of the month according to Sheriff Larry Cleveland.
The 38-foot glass enclosed Ethan Allen, owned by Shoreline Cruises Inc. of Lake George, was hosting a group of senior citizens from Michigan on an hour-long fall foliage tour along the Lake George shoreline when it capsized and sank, killing 20 of the 47 passengers on board.

Six people walked away with only minor injuries Tuesday night after their speeding boat went airborne on Lake Mahopac and crash-landed into a dock and another boat, Carmel town police said.

Two Massachusetts men were involved in a boating accident on Lake Winnipesaukee Saturday afternoon, leaving one with minor injuries.
Authorities say that Charles Albert, 72, of Foxboro, Mass., was driving a 1985 23-foot Sea Ray north in Paugus Bay when he struck a 23-foot Party Barge Pontoon Boat. The driver of the pontoon boat, owned by Richard Lyons, 47, of Marlboro, Mass., was in the process of bringing two tubers onto the boat. Police said Albert's boat came to rest covering the beam of Lyon's vessel, before it was backed off into the water.
Boat trip turns to rescue mission

PENNSVILLE TWP. --A few wrong turns changed a boating day trip into an unexpected overnight adventure leaving five boaters lost for about 12 hours.
Shane McDowell, of Linwood, Pa., decided to take what was supposed to be a few hours' boat ride Sunday with friends, but instead it turned into a search and rescue mission Monday.
No one was injured.

Divers have recovered the body of a man and a search for a missing woman continues.
The two separate incidents happened on Lake Travis this weekend.
At Devil's Cove, divers found the body of a 36-year-old man who never resurfaced after diving off a boat around 10 p.m. Saturday. Divers recovered the body shortly after authorities were notified.
Two die in separate boating accidents in St. Martin Parish

According to Wildlife and Fisheries agents, two people died in separate boating accidents over the weekend in St. Martin Parish.
Fifteen-year-old Cody Gerard of Youngsville died Saturday as a result of injuries sustained in an accident on Henderson Bay.
Gerard was riding on a ski-tube in Henderson Bay that was being towed by a boat operated by his stepfather, Patrick Galley, also of Youngsville. Wildlife Agents say the victim sustained critical injuries when he was thrown from the tube and struck a tree. Gerard was airlifted to Lafayette General Hospital, where he died later that day.
