Accutane and Mental Health Issues, including Depression and Possible Suicide Risks
Please note: While Weitz & Luxenberg has provided information about a number of medical and psychiatric side effects associated with the use of Accutane, we do not currently accept cases involving mental health issues, including depression or Accutane patient suicide risk.
We are only able to assist Accutane patients who develop these gastrointestinal diseases: Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease.
Many studies have emerged linking isotretinoin (Accutane) to suicide and depression.
However, it must also be acknowledged that the drug's primary use is for the treatment of severe nodular acne, and the possibility that the acne patient's depression or other mental health issues could be linked to the emotional consequences of severe acne. Moreover, improvement in the patient's acne condition after completing a course with Accutane may also serve to reduce or diminish symptoms of anxiety and depression.
