Alternative therapies may be valuable in fighting lung cancer

While there is no general agreement as to whether alternative therapies such as the use of herbs and acupuncture can actually assist in the treatment of a disease like lung cancer or mesothelioma, many believe that they do no harm and can actually be of some benefit.

Healthcare professionals agree however, that before using alternative therpies, the patient should fully research the effectiveness of such therapies.

Using alternative therapies on the basis of a hunch or for the purpose of rebelling against the healthcare "establishment" is probably a mistake. Also, patients are advised to consult a healthcare professional before using alternative therapies.
