Diagnosis of anemia

Diagnosis of anemia is usually made through a standard blood test — the complete blood count (CBC) — which includes three key measures relating to anemia: the red blood cell count, the hematocrit, and the hemoglobin count. A major reduction in any of these measures will indicate anemia is present.
