The discovery of asbestos in a Columbia County, NY, office building has forced an office to close. During the period when the office was closed, a chunk of asbestos (formerly part of pipe insulation) was removed by a qualified asbestos remover.

And the air in the room was tested before, during and after the removal. In all tests, the air sample showed traces of some kind of contamination, but the contamination was below the acceptable levels set by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act.
