A report concerning the asbestos at MacArthur Elementary School was sent to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

“I was contacted by KDHE,” Haskell said. “I told them what was going on and what we were doing. They really didn’t comprehend the amount. It was about a half a square foot that was cut out. Four electrical boxes.” MacArthur students were kept out of classrooms during that time, and as Thompson finished the clean up process, they were allowed back in the area.
