“As that was happening, I was visiting with the state department, and they didn’t comprehend what amount it was,” Haskell said. “They recommended that we go ahead and keep the kids out and do an air quality test. That’s what we did.”
Haskell said the air quality test proved there was an “allowable amount” of asbestos in the area of MacArthur where it was found.
“There’s an allowable amount of detection when you can still occupy the space,” he said. “On the air test that came back that evening, the monitors wouldn’t even pick it up. It didn’t even pick up any fiber tissue in the air whatsoever.”
