U.S. automakers more careful in European Union countries to contain asbestos use
EPA was recently informed that replacement brakes bought in 2006 for certain automakers' vehicles were shown by lab testing to contain asbestos.
So it appears that some of the major automakers are still selling asbestos-containing new vehicles and replacement brakes in the U.S., even though they probably wouldn’t dare try to sell that stuff in European Union countries like Germany, Poland, Slovenia, and Lithuania.
