Bronx man with lung cancer seeks asbestos lawsuit compensation. Our attorneys can help.
A Bronx man with lung cancer recently wrote to our asbestos lawyers because he was interested in pursuing compensation for his illness.
The man, who lived in the Bronx, was 79 and was diagnosed with lung cancer nine years ago.
He said he was a laborer for 24 years, working directly with asbestos.
"We used it in powder form and also sawed sheets of pure asbestos," he said.
He recalled that asbestos was often used in inductors to heat treat crankshafts in trucks.
A crankshaft is a rotating shaft driven by (or driving) a crank reciprocating engine. In such internal-combustion engines the crankshaft is turned by pistons moving up and down in cylinders.
Asbestos was routinely used in such equipment and those who worked with it were unfortunately exposed to the deadly carcinogen.
This, in turn, imperiled the health of those refractory workers. Many have told us their work environment led to a diagnosis of mesothelioma, asbestosis or lung cancer from asbestos.
If this has been your experience, we may be able to help.
