Asbestos risk: Dockyard worker diagnosed with lung cancer
Dockyard workers: You have a right to seek lawsuit compensation if your exposure to asbestos caused harm.
In recent news, a man who spent his career in a dockyard died after being exposed to asbestos on the job.
He regularly came into contact with asbestos dust while working as an insulator and riveter over a period of more than 40 years.
The 75-year-old had to retire in 1993 due to ill-health.
Unfortunately, 11 years later, he was diagnosed with lung cancer.
The dockyard worker also had asbestos-related pleural plaques, asbestosis and a large tumor on his left lung.
His wife recalled, "He loved the dockyard. It was his life."
His oncologists said that the fact that he worked all his life in the dockyard, that he has pleural plaques, he's got asbestosis, and a special medical test showed a high level of asbestos fibers in his lung tissue, all indicate that asbestos was the cause of his death.
