Pittsburg County Courthouse hires Environmental Action Inc. for asbestos abatement

Environmental Action, Inc., was chosen as the company to handle asbestos abatement and removal from the Pittsburg (Okla.) County Courthouse.

Pittsburg County Commissioners, meeting as the Pittsburg County Economic Development Authority, awarded the contract to the Tulsa-based company Monday morning.

Chairman Kevin Smith estimated that about 30,000 square feet of asbestos tile will have to be removed, for a total of about $80,000. But, he noted, the final tally won’t be known until the company actually starts work in a few weeks and can more readily assess the damage.
