What should I do if I've been exposed to asbestos?

Weitz & Luxenberg is now accepting clients in Canada and American who have been injured by asbestos.

If you have been exposed to asbestos and have developed an asbestos-related disease, please complete the form on this page for a free legal review of your case.

The following types of people who have been exposed to asbestos should be tested for asbestos disease:

  • Anyone with breathing problems;
  • Anyone with prolonged exposure to asbestos, or anyone who thinks they have had prolonged exposure to asbestos;
  • Immediate family members of people who have worked in asbestos-related industries, even if the person who worked with asbestos has no visible symptoms. Some people are simply more susceptible than others;
  • Anyone with "burst exposure" (a very heavy concentration) to asbestos for short periods of time.

    Getting Diagnosed
    Initial testing is an x-ray (side and front view of your chest.) Further tests may include a pulmonary function test, blood work, a CT scan and/or biopsy. It is vital that you obtain a written copy of your diagnosis.

    If you are unaware of the severity of your condition, you may lose the opportunity to file a claim for the health problems you are experiencing as a result of your exposure to asbestos.
