Fitchburg, MA Recycling Company Fined by MassDEP for Violations Relating to Asbestos Disposal
In May 2009, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) fined a Fitchburg, MA recycling company for violations relating to the disposal of solid waste and asbestos at a demolition debris processing facility.
In October 2007 MassDEP inspected the facility, where they found the company was unable to produce copies of required reports for asbestos-containing materials.
The company was fined $1,8600, and was also required to provide funding for a MassDEP educational project with regard to MassDEP's asbestos regulations.
