Leominster, MA Company Fined for Asbestos Violations at Clinton Demolition Site

In June 2009, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) announced it had fined a Leominster, MA asbestos removal company for violations relating to a demolition project at a former American Legion Post building in Clinton, MA.

In November 2008, MassDEP inspectors visited the demolition site, where they discovered asbestos-containing insulation was being improperly removed. The company was cited for:

  • Failure to properly sealing the work area; and
  • Failure to adequately wet the asbestos waste materials.

    The company was fined $2,000 for the violations.
