Asbestos in town of Libby may warrant declaration of a public health emergency

It has been reported that a Montana Senator plans to ask the head of the EPA to declare a public health emergency in Libby because of the amount of asbestos exposure that exists in the town.

Libby is the town where W.R. Grace & Company operated a mine that was contaminated with asbestos. Outside the mine, asbestos contamination reached fields, private yards, roads and playgrounds.
