Treatment of Asbestos Lung Cancer
Exposure to asbestosis is known to cause serious diseases such as mesothelioma, asbestos-related lung cancer and asbestosis. Treatment options for asbestos-related lung cancer include surgery to remove the cancer, or the use of radiation therapy or medicine (chemotherapy) to kill the cancer.
A combination of these options may also be used. The patient's treatment and long-term outcome depend on the type of lung cancer the patient has. Non–small cell lung cancer may be easier to treat because it grows and spreads slowly and may be detected in its early stages when treatment is most effective.
Weitz & Luxenberg is a leading plaintiffs' law firm that has represented people affected by mesothelioma for over 20 years. Men and women diagnosed with mesothelioma caused by asbestos exposure may be entitled to compensation from the companies responsible for their disease.
