Asbestos Removal Scheduled at Monmouth County, NJ School
In April 2009, officials at a Monmouth County, NJ school district announced that summer renovation plans for district buildings would include asbestos removal.
The asbestos remediation of the building, which was constructed in 1961, will include renovations to the ceiling and removal of asbestos from pipes in the school’s administrative wing. Asbestos will also be removed from the school’s technology room.
The project is expected to cost the school district $94,500 for the work in the administrative wing and an additional $25,000 for the technology wing project.
Even limited exposure to asbestos is known to cause serious diseases such as mesothelioma, asbestos-related lung cancer or asbestosis.
