Asbestos Removal at High School Gym in Oley, PA

In February 2009, the Oley Valley School District announced that a contractor had been hired to remove asbestos found in the District’s high school auxiliary gym. The Reading, PA area school district reported that asbestos was discovered to be present in mastic glue that had bonded wood and cork in the flooring of the gym.

After the asbestos was discovered, air quality testing was performed, which showed the air at normal limits. The auxiliary gym has been sealed off from the rest of the building while the asbestos is removed.>/P>
