Asbestos-related disease study shows average age of patients is dropping
The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) announced important new findings regarding the age in which new patients are being diagnosed with mesothelioma and other diseases related to asbestos.
The ADAO says the average age for those diagnosed with mesothelioma is 51. Their research also shows that many newly diagnosed patients are under the age of 40 and have never worked directly with asbestos.
This new information is quite different from earlier studies. In 1986, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) reported that the average age was nearly 70 years old.
The dangers of exposure to asbestos are all too familiar to the attorneys in the Weitz & Luxenberg P.C. Asbestos Litigation unit.
