San Francisco, CA Man Sentenced for Asbestos-Related Clean Air Act Violations

In May 2008, a San Francisco, CA man was sentenced to 10 months in prison for the illegal removal of asbestos from a demolition project.

The man had been charged with failing to properly notify the Air District of the demolition, failing to wet asbestos-containing material before removal, failing to keep asbestos debris in leak-tight containers, and failing to dispose of the contaminated debris at an unauthorized location.
