Former employees of Contact Energy can get asbestos test

Former New Plymouth power station employee Lance Snowden, who in the past has criticized the handling of former employees who believed they had been exposed to asbestos, said the asbestos test was a step in the right direction by Contact Energy.

"You can't change the past but you can address the past," he said yesterday. "In a lot of cases I see it as too little too late, but if Contact are going to do something about it, that will be so cool."

Contact communications manager Jonathan Hill said it was good practice by Contact.
