New York State oversees training programs on the proper handling of asbestos materials

June 29, 2010 – The New York State Department of Health’s Asbestos Safety Training Program has regulatory oversight of approved training providers that offer courses on the handling, evaluation and removal of asbestos containing materials from homes and public buildings.

The Asbestos Safety Training Program reviews applications for its courses and approves those that meet the requirements established in 10 NYCRR Part 73.

The application package to take asbestos training courses includes the curricula, training director and instructor resumes, equipment to be used and supplemental training guides.
