Utah government agencies seek data on worker exposure to vermiculite asbestos
The Utah Department of Health (UDOH), Salt Lake Valley Health Department, and the Agency of Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) is gathering information to determine the extent of worker exposure to asbestos at the Salt Lake City vermiculite sites.
As facility worker records no longer exist from the Intermountain Vermiculite facility, there is a lack of historical background to research former employee addresses.
Understanding past exposures to Libby asbestos will help determine the health risks.
