New York: The Written Rules of Asbestos Abatement

Written notification must be received as soon as possible, but not later than 48 hours after the project begins, at the DEP's Bureau of Air Resources' Asbestos Control Division.

Written notification shall be via the Asbestos Inspection Report (Form ACP7) with a cover letter stating:

"This is notification for an emergency asbestos project"; and The nature of the emergency.
