Anakinra may prevent diseases linked to inhalation of asbestos fibers

Scientists have developed a drug called Anakinra which they hope will prevent asbestos diseases that result from inhalation of asbestos fibers.

When it was found that inhalation of asbestos fibers caused serious illnesses, including asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma, most uses of asbestos were banned in many countries.
