Cement factory owners: Asbestos-related diseases predicted to increase in Australian town

The new owners of a cement factory in Tasmania, Australia have predicted that the number of people diagnosed with asbestos-related diseases will increase, according to ABC News Australia on June 5, 2008.

The factory made asbestos building products from 1947 until 1986, the article said.

According to the report, the number of new mesothelioma cases in Tasmania has risen dramatically in the past decade.
