When Does the Asbestos Certification Program Become Applicable?

Asbestos supervisors and asbestos abatement contractors are trained and certified to perform asbestos projects in compliance.

When the failure to comply with the applicable safety and health standards becomes repetitive and significant, or otherwise constitutes a serious risk of asbestos exposure to employees and to the public, the Asbestos Certification Program will review the competency of the certificate holder.

After such a review, a determination will be made whether to suspend or revoke the certificate.
