The widow of a former carpenter has filed suit against Chevron USA, claiming the oil company negligently and maliciously exposed her late husband to asbestos, reported the Southeast Texas Record on April 21, 2008.
She filed her suit on behalf of her husband on April 16 in Southeast
Texas.
According to the artichel, the man worked for Gulf at its Port
Arthur facility. During his career as a carpenter, he used and was exposed to
toxic materials including asbestos dust
and fibers.
As a result of
such exposure, the suit says, he
developed an asbestos-related disease from which he died.
