Asbestos removal contract awarded for apartment building after debate

After debate, an asbestos removal contract was awarded to Enviro Remediation Tech Services. The following are some points that were raised in the debate

The council asked why it was necessary to award two contracts. Terry Nelson, inspections services manager, said the roof membrane on the outside was found to contain asbestos.

"It's already exposed, so why do we care?" Councilman Dave Ferris asked. "Drive up a dump truck and unload it."
