Demonstration to Support Pleural Plaque Victims by Asbestos Activists

Asbestos activists staged a demonstration in the city with the 4th highest rate of asbestos death in England and Wales. The demonstration was part of a campaign targeting the constituencies of Cabinet ministers who have the power to enact laws protecting and benefiting citizens exposed to asbestos.

Union leaders are worried that the government will not overturn a recent ruling which robbed victims of pleural plaques their right to seek compensation.
