In fact, smoking not only adds to the risk of asbestos-related lung cancer, it multiplies it!
Because of some interaction in the body, people who are exposed to asbestos and also smoke have an increased risk of lung cancer 50- to 90-times greater than people who do not smoke and are not exposed to asbestos.
Smoking is a hazard you control. This link between smoking and asbestos is just one more good reason for you and your family not to smoke.
