Some asbestos found after preliminary inspections of school

Preliminary inspections of the school have found asbestos, said George Moore of The Architecture Studio in Allentown. The project also includes $8 million in renovations to Richland Elementary School.

''I heard from many people that this [i.e. renovation] is just a ploy to close the school. We would never let that happen,'' Director Paul Stepanoff said.

Andrejko also said people may think there is some mystery behind the project, but added, ''There is no mystery. We are not keeping anything from you.''
