Manufacturers Lobby Group Fighting Against the Rights of Asbestos Victims
The National Association of Manufacturers, the trade association which
lobbies against the rights of consumers, joined the fight against plaintiffs in
asbestos lawsuits in Ohio. The NAM filed an
amicus (“friend of the court”) brief in the Supreme Court of Ohio on behalf of
the defendant companies. In their brief, they are attempting to persuade
the court to reverse a decision from a lower court making an award of damages to
the family of a deceased asbestos worker whose death was caused by his exposure
to dangerous abestos dusts and fibers.
