Supreme Court Refuses to Hear Two Cases on Asbestos Liability
October 2, 2006 (Associated Press)
The Supreme Court will not consider a case that could drastically hem in the
amount of money paid to workers harmed by exposure to asbestos, reports The
Associated Press.
It has opted to not hear a case regarding the
Fuller-Austin Insulation Co. and how much insurance companies must pay asbestos
victims.
The Court also refused to hear an appeal by U.S. Steel Corp.,
which is seeking to compel Liberty Mutual Insurance Company to pay for
asbestos-related wrongful death claims.
