Asbestos.com reports that a woman named Linda Sinnett, who passed away from peritoneal mesothelioma in July, is believed to have suffered secondary asbestos exposure from her father’s work clothes.

Most cases of peritoneal mesothelioma result from ingesting asbestos fibers, and it is suspected that the fibers from her father’s work clothes may have come in contact with the food preparation areas in the kitchen, which was near the laundry room.

Mrs. Sinnett’s husband, John Sinnett, was more than surprised when he learned of his wife’s condition, since she had never directly worked with asbestos.

When speaking of his wife, Mr. Sinnett said, “She was full of spirit. Linda was like the boxer Rocky. If the cancer knocked her down she would get up again and fight back. She was a loving woman who was very close to her family.”
