Conclusion
The excavation of asbestos-contaminated soils from the Sargeant Avenue detention pond area and their subsequent removal from this location and at Broad Street was conducted in a manner that did not cause any significant release of asbestos to the surrounding community.
According to the ATSDR public health hazard classification system, these events constituted no public health hazard because the control measures were successful in limiting exposure to asbestos contaminated soils and the monitored air levels of asbestos were well below a concentration that could result in an adverse impact on human health.
