Pittsburg County courthouse will undergo asbestos abatement work. A firm has already been hired for the work
In other news, Pittsburg commissioners tabled a resolution levying and assessing a county excise tax of one-quarter percent in addition to all other city, county and state excise funds presently being levied or assessed for the purpose of providing funds for fire departments in Pittsburg County.
District 3 Commissioner Randy Crone said the resolution has been sent to the district attorney’s office for consideration, but the county doesn’t have the opinion letter back yet.
